PROJECT #7: Multiples or More is More: Due October 27
Jasper Johns: “Take an object. Do something to it. Do something else to it”
Create a sculpture of multiples in which the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.
Use found or everyday objects for a temporary site-specific installation about home and shelter. Perhaps that means building a shelter of matchsticks under your radiator or on your windowsill or building a chair out of books or toilet paper rolls or card board boxes from deliveries. Make something sweet, or funny or sad that is well crafted, but comes from readily available materials, lots of them, multiples.
And of course photograph your installation in several locations. Perhaps even climbing up the wall. Let your materials and the location add meaning to the project.
October 15, bring your ideas and one form or sketch to class to share.
