Although it doesn’t look like a lot of wire, I used up all of the wire I had, which was unfortunate. I would’ve liked to add more volume to the back of the mask because I started making pieces that would stick up behind the head, but I thought it would’ve been more successful it there was more wire in the back. I also found it difficult to weave the wire in a more organized way that would make it more symmetrical, but I thought it looked pretty cool when I was wearing it. I was also able to see out of it pretty well, so I brought it out and took a walk with it on (got a lot of weird looks), but it was comfortable.
I was originally supposed to do Gabo, but once I started playing with wire, I was more inspired by Giacometti’s wire piece in creating a form that was more unstructured and a little chaotic.
I really loved the way you did this piece it looks like a great mask you could wear to some masquerade party. Although it is very chaotic within the piece, with wires intertwining all over, the mask in it’s entirety looks very well done!
^^^ I totally agree with this comment. I really love the last picture of you out with it. I think it reflects Giacometti’s style and energy of his pieces. I like that you made this just a mask and the color from the wire works really well!
