An Introduction Through Objects

  1. My water bottle. I take this with me everywhere and I’ve had it for the last 3 years so its been with me through a lot and carries a lot of memories.
  2. My chakra candle represents my love for candles and how they ground me. They inspire me to feel creative and productive so I like to light them when I want to study or relax. This is just one of my 10 candles that I own.
  3. My polaroid camera. I like to take my polaroid with me on adventures and when hanging out with friends because having a hard copy of pictures makes me feel like I’ll have something to look back on. I have polaroid pictures hanging all around my dorm room on campus and my room back at home.
  4. My crystals. The black bag holds my crystals that I’ve been gifted over the past 2 years. Some of them I got through a past friend for my birthday 2 years ago and the others were gifted to me by another friend this year for my birthday.
  5. My Apple Pencil. This kind of goes together with the iPad but represents my hobby of digital journaling and design. I like to take my notes digitally and the apple pencil helps me with accuracy and maneuvering things.
  6. My iPad. Like I said I like to do a lot of digital journaling and all my notes that I take for my classes and my planners are on my iPad. I use it for scheduling, emailing, and designing my notes too look both organized and very pretty!

  1. The color scheme with all your objects is really coordinated and precise so I think it could be a good idea for the positioning of each object in the composition to contradict the color scheme’s neatness and be more messy/ interesting. In my personal opinion I think your composition would have more character if it was less perfect.

  2. Your photo makes me feel at peace– I’m not sure if it’s the color scheme or maybe the objects that make me feel more calm. I also like the effect of the shadows from that you were able to capture with the angle. It adds some more depth, but also creates some interesting shapes. Everything looks very organized and straight, but I liked how you put the pencil at an angle that is parallel to the strings of the crystal bag because it draws me to the different elements of your photo.

  3. It is interesting how the colors of your chosen objects organize the composition. Or more precisely, hor you used color to organize and balance the arrangement. You also use the readable text effectively. There is a basic harmony and balance of shape and color that plays well with the readability and directionality of the text. And we all love a little humor! As a photo editing suggestion, I might have eliminated the background and straightened things up a little. And what would have happened visually if the Apple pencil had rested on the top of the water bottle, pointing towards the crystals. (Just moving it a few inches, although it would have obscured the word COMPOSITION…)
