For the indoor installation, I wanted to create something that would make every single person who enters my house look at it completely different. I wanted to change the way we move through space by playing on “the floor is lava” game. Instead of the norm of walking around every piece of furniture as we do in any building, I thought it would be interesting to see what it would be like if the complete opposite was the norm. To have to walk only on furniture would be such a different interesting concept that completely changes the appearance of any space. To do this, I cleaned up my living room to ensure nothing was on the floor (except the rugs which are way too dirty to put anywhere other than the floor) and moved all of the furniture in a connecting line through the entire room towards the stairs.
