Indoor Installation

Our house in Bethlehem, isn’t the most attractive house (inside or out), and the colors of the walls and furniture are very bland. I knew I wanted to do something with color and I thought that the ugliest part of our house were the stairs, so that’s what I focused on. Looking at our stairs, I noticed that the steps were really steep and the staircase itself is always dark because the only light source is from the living room. A lot of guests as well as the people living in my house have tripped or fallen on the stairs. So, I decided to use colored post-it notes with words and drawings and taped them to each step of the staircase. I thought drawings and notes would make it more fun and personalized, but I also that the brightness and craziness would make people slow down to look at it and therefore pay more attention to where they are stepping.

  1. Your piece is really interesting and catches the viewers immediately. I especially think that drawing on the sticky notes instead of just placing them blank was a good idea because it adds more for the eye to look at. Its a very fun piece and shows your creativity and how much you had fun with this project, I really liked your work.
