Clay Modeling – Part 1

This was my first attempt. I didn’t anticipate the clay being so hard so I thought if I rolled it into little balls it would be easier to work with

This one I used a smaller amount of clay so it was easier to work and shape. I thought I was going to do a bunch of spheres connected then with a larger base at the bottom and then I just pulled them and shaped them more.
I liked this one the most. It reminds me of a weeping woman and it just feels very emotional for some reason even though I didn’t intend for it to be. The emptiness on the inside could also be alluding to the emptiness of the weeping woman.

    These are interesting forms well documented and well lit. The evolution towards a more three dimensional expressive for is quite interesting. With your last piece, I think I prefer shot 1 and 3 although they are all compelling. Work a little with lighting and see if you can fold a piece of paper behind your forms to eliminate the background.
