“The Man”
My focus for my sculpture was very exaggerated features. I made his features really big and then his head really little. I don’t really have a reason why but that’s just how I envisioned the face in my head. I could have made the features smaller and realistic but thats not really the direction I wanted to head. When I finished with it I really liked it and it kind of reminded me of a lot of the African Tribal Masks and statues my grandmother keeps in her living room so I guess thats where I unintentionally got my inspiration from.
Look up Tom Otterness, just for fun and let me know what you think. The ¾ views show off the piece more effectively as we get a better view of the whole as opposed to just the features. I think the mouth needs a little work, perhaps just a cleaner division between the lips and a separation between the upper and lower lip. (in view 3 it almost looks like clenched teeth!)
