“Food Capital”
The inspiration behind my piece was food and drinks and how much we as humans consume. I used different food/drink items to cast a shadow against the background reminiscent to a city skyline. I also used utensils and cans to make a bridge as well as spaghetti noodles along the bottom to make a river. During our last class my group mates as well Lucy said I should try and cast the shadow from behind the paper and have the outlines drawn over the shadows but I couldn’t find a paper thin enough to cast shadows through it and didn’t have any spare sheets to sketch on. I still think the piece is strong though.
I really like this piece, and how you were able to create a city out of food and drinks. I think your lighting was very effective at creating shadows that look like a city skyline. I also like how you made a bridge out of utensils.
