Ready-Made

I wanted to create a story with my ready made using some of the “garbage” we had around our house, so I created a form of a college student in the time of the pandemic. We had a lot of empty vodka handles around the house, and I thought they had a very torso-like shape, so I formed almost a person by stacking up the bottles. I also thought the form would be more interesting by adding different textures and colors to the bottle, so there are different themes to each bottle. The left “leg” is stuffed with snacks, ramen, etc. wrappers and the right one is covered with different types of packaging from different types of alcoholic beverages and nail polish. The one that makes up the body is plastered with notes using mod podge. I thought it would be interesting to incorporate all these elements into the form to create a story of the life of a typical college student, and I added a few masks to represent the current situation we are in.
