Multiples

Give or take every book I’ve read in my life supports this feeble desk. Despite its haphazard appearance, every book supporting the desk is carefully placed to symbolically display the imminent death of my childhood passion for reading.

The Left Side:

The left desk support consists of 3 layers: the foundation, the bricks, and the solid. Every book (2 exceptions) on the left was read purely for enjoyment and genuine interest.

The Foundation (Bottom-Layer): located at the bottom left, 7 of the most meaningful books that have most likely had the largest impact on the person I am today. While most in this first section are childhood picture books, the others are books whose message just kinda spoke to me on a deep level. Directly in the column to the right, are my favorite enjoyment books ever. Titles like “The Candy Shop War,” and “The Lightning Thief,” are just 2 examples from this column that made me love to read. The rest of the foundation is made up of sequel/ series that were from the favorites column.

The Bricks (begins when the stacking of books resembles that of bricks): The bricks are made of many other enjoyment books ive read that I loved (many of these books I was introduced to because of the foundations books). The strong pattern I used to stack the books further strengthens the books to support the desk rather than if I had stacked it differently.

The solid: This layer is right above the bricks. It gets much thinner and is less supported because while I did enjoy the books in this layer, they really were just “solid” books. despite being a bit thin at the top, as a whole, the left support should have zero issues holding up the desk.
