My god this will be the last time I try to create a human face out of paper mache. The paste worked well just took a while to dry between layers so I ended up using some hot glue to build up the volume quicker. Some places I had over-built the volume and had to whittle it down with a box cutter. So there was a lot of building up and then cutting down. Overall, I am satisfied withe the outcome as it is a recognizable human face although I may not have gotten the same expressiveness that Bernini is famous for.

Very expressive interpretation of Bernini. Although you wanted a smooth texture we appreciate the roughness of the surface.; it lends a planar structure to the form. The mask looks a little like a rendering of Medusa, with those snake-like locks of hair and a bit like poor Theresa in “ecstasy” by Bernini in Santa Maria della Vittoria, in Rome. Great job.
This mask is interesting when you wearing it on the street or at a party. But I wonder if this mask is too heavy on the face.
