Cabinet of Curiosities

“Curving Forest” I used postcards as a base frame, carving erasers to represent animals in the forest (I used them in the indoor Installation), and carving pieces of paper to represent plants (I made them in the mask project). I want this work to show what I’ve carved this semester.

Mask

JUDY PFAFF’s work often combines brightly colored circles and lines, so I used these two elements to create a headpiece mask that covers one side of the face.

Paper Modeling

For this work, I first colored the paper with an oil painting stick. Then a spiral structure was carved as the basis for the work. I hold it in place with a piece of paper that goes through the spiral. And then add some structure to it to make it look more stable and full.
